The world of packaging is changing
The new EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) introduces uniform requirements for packaging across Europe. The aim is to reduce packaging waste, improve recyclability and promote the use of recyclable materials.
What does PPWR stand for?
The PPWR establishes a uniform legal framework for packaging within the European Union. In future, companies must, amongst other things, ensure that packaging:
- is designed to be recyclable,
- unnecessary packaging material is avoided,
- material compositions are documented in a traceable manner,
- complies with the statutory labelling and information requirements.
